Seumus' Irish Bar is Marlborough’s favourite authentic ‘Irish pub’. Located near the Picton waterfront, the bar has a buzzing atmosphere, with live music 7 days a week throughout summer, but also on weekends year-round. A menu designed to boast traditional Irish meals with classic kiwi favourites, it’s a brilliant spot to pull up a stool or cosy into a booth, get yourself a pint of Guinness (or a Marlborough wine or gin) and tuck into some tasty food. Seumus’ has been recognised on the global scene, winning Irish Pub of the year and Best Irish Community Pub in Asia, Africa, Middle East and Pacific, as well as the Best Overall Irish Community pub globally at the Irish Hospitality Global awards in 2019. Take your time, enjoy the live music, admire the décor and challenge each other to a round of darts. First opened its doors on 13 February 2004. Based on Limavady bar 'Frank Owens' in Northern Ireland, Seumus’ is your more traditional, authentic Irish local. Wood is everywhere – in the custom-made booths, tables, chairs and stools – and the decor relies more on old photographs that have special meaning than on bright flags and green memorabilia.
