Description
You will travel 120km weaving in and out of 10 bays, from sea level to the crater rim, delivering mail to farms and settlements, experiencing the magnificent natural beauty & isolation of the Eastern Bays on Banks Peninsula.
As well as pick up and welcome in central Akaroa, and travel in our modern, comfortable van, your tour includes:
- Our commentary telling the stories of Banks Peninsula's natural and social history
- Complementary tea or coffee with homemade snacks
- A historic church visit
- Stopping at one of NZ's longest running country stores
- A short walk on beautiful Le Bons Bay beach

Our Mail Run operates from Monday to Friday leaving central Akaroa at 9am & arriving back there at approximately 2pm.
Cancellations made 30 days prior to the departure will receive a full refund. Cancellations made at least 24 hours in advance will receive an 80% refund with a 20% cancellation fee applied. No refund will be given within 24 hours before the tour departs and because of this we strongly recommend travel insurance.
CRUISE SHIP PASSENGERS please make sure you book/board an early tender in time for the mail run’s 9am departure. There is no refund for late arrivals as the mail van has a strict schedule to adhere to. If your ship cannot come into harbour because of bad weather we will honour your ticket for when you revisit with proof of purchase/ship cancellation details. (When rebooking please get in touch directly with the tour operator)
